sad

The day was unusually empty, because we did not have our laboratory for STAT106 which made 11:30-2:30 my spare time. So, after lunch, I decided to take my time by surfing the net and playing games in the internet cafe, which cost me 30php from my daily allowance. And speaking of allowance, I realized that I used almost 110% of my daily-based allowance for food. It is not bad though because I am using it for a good cause (i.e., for me to have healthy fats and gain weight), but it is slightly not good because I spend a lot of my extra allowance. (extra allowance I get from my DOST scholarship) I spend 40% for transportation, and some extra stuffs I have to buy or pay. I think, without the schlarship's allowance, I will get broke after a few more weeks, that is why I am also planning to work as tutor so Ican spend as much as I want for FOOD! (i love eating)

Anyway, here's a sad story. On my way home, I was riding a public jeepney. Near the Capitol intersection, the jeepney stopped and waited for the green light to flash on the traffic light. While waiting, my eyes wandered around, and then on the sidewalk I saw a young couple, presumably both in the range 19-23 years old. The man was carrying a baby in his right arm and holding some bags in his left hand. His partner on his left was holding some bags in her left and holding a burning cigarette stick on her right. After a few seconds, she inhaled in whatever it is to be inhaled in a cigarette. Then just blew the smoke to her front and to the side of the baby. Yeah, and the baby, not yet knowing what is to be taken in, breathe in the air with the smoke from his mother's mouth. Then the man gave the baby to woman and the woman gave the man the cigarette still burning, waiting to be fully consumed. Then the man just did what the woman did, harming the young and innocent baby.

I was really sympathetic to the baby and the parents because I think that they don't actually know that they are risking the lives of each other.

So much for that, I gotta go and finish reading the assignment. Good night!
