Pepeng

This week is quite tragic for the residents in the NCR region. Days after the storm 'Ondoy' left the country, the towns directly hit by the typhoon are still trying to recover. There are still many houses submerged in water, and lots of families staying in evacuation centers, waiting for some help from neighboring towns and from the government and some foundations. The spread of bacterias and possible diseases are also a threat to those affected by the typhoon, since the water system in the area is contaminated by the flood. But despite the situation the Filipinos are in, you can never take away their smiles, may be because they know that their fellowmen are always there to help and assist them. Donations and relief goods are not just given by country men in that region, but also from the others in the South. Pinoys abroad also donated some cash to support the giving of relief goods to the victims. This just shows that no matter where other Pinoys are, their heart belongs to their fellow Pinoy.

Here are some pictures, evidence of the wrath of 'Ondoy':

In my rant above, I was talking about 'Ondoy', but the title of this post is "Pepeng". It is the name of another typhoon approaching the Philippines. Such a tagic entrance because Ondoy has already damaged a lot in the Luzon area, and now, another storm is approaching the same target. Could this mean something?
