I missed blogging. I think I said this in my previous blogs that I would want to hone my skills in writing, but really, I didn't see any improvement. You see, I had a hard time finalizing my project proposal concept paper because I can't express my thoughts into words. Oh well.
What I am going to talk about now is my busy week. Just sharing.
Since last week,we have been practicing for the upcoming Ms. UP Cebu 2010 pageant night. I had difficulties during the first days of the practice/workshop.
First, because I easily get uncomfortable with the presence of a crowd, that was why I looked so stiff. (Maybe, I just pressured myself too much.)
Second, I'm not used to walk in stilettos, and due to that Ella said, I walked I was kneeling.
Third, I slouched a lot. I had problems in walking with relaxed shoulders, as I've said earlier.
But after a few days of constant practices, I got used to the feeling of the people around me, which really affected my performance. I was able to focus and walk relaxed. I also got used to the sandals. Though, my feet would still hurt after hours of standing and walking with that hig-heeled footwear.
I just want to thank all the peole who patiently taught me the proper ways of walking, and some techniques on how to feel relaxed.
Here are some photos taken during one of our practices. (For more of it, visit Debbie's Page).
Not only do we allocate our time for practices, but also we spare some of our time working and meeting with DACF (Dolores S. Aboitiz Children's Fund), the partner institution of the Ms. UP project. Last week, we had ocular visits to interact with the children, who would benefit from the approved project proposal. It was tiring, but it was fun. I learned some things from the visits, and I heard some interesting and inspiring stories from some children. The learning visits served as our guide for our concept for the project proposal. As for my proposal, I did not associate with any of the institutions that we visited. Actually, it took me a real long time to finalize on my concept. My project involves the Gawad Kalinga Development Group. I came by that idea, but I killed it instantly, and ended up focusing on something close to impossible. But thanks to KC for making me realize (and opening the idea) that the GK Build concept is better than the 'Balik-Probinsiya' program that I was trying to focus on. So I worked on the proposal, and finished it but late. Still, I am done with it, and I'll just prepare for the defense this Saturday. Wish me luck for that.
That's all so far for my extra-curricular activities. Luckily, school works were not that plenty, so I did not die from stress.
Till next post, if I'm still here.
